I have many great memories of enjoying Iron Maiden’s music when I was younger.  For my 13th birthday, my Grandma took me to the Hudson’s Bay Company and told me to pick out any record I wanted.  I chose Iron Maiden’s The Number of the Beast.  She thought it was a strange choice but I enjoyed my metal-fuelled mayhem.  For the next few years, I rocked out to their music and vividly remember going nuts at a concert in Calgary around 1982 or 1983.  It gave me the most energy I had ever had in my life.  Piece of Mind.  Powerslave.  Live After Death.  Somewhere Back in Time.  Good times!

Fast-forward to tonight and I enjoyed Iron Maiden’s concert at the Irvine Amphitheatre.  It was nice to time travel back to awkward adolescence when all I could think about was channeling excess energy and wanting to get laid.  Seems that the more times change, the more they stay the same.
